Mobile Robots –
General Requirements and Test Methods


Mobile robots play the role of moving goods or products in various fields, for example, smart factories, warehouses and restaurants. AGV and AMR are the most popular mobile robot products in these applications. To shape a better ecosystem, AMRA develops industrial standards on the critical aspects about mobile robot products.
AMRA-201 provides guidance for mobile robot products regarding their general requirements and test methods, and one of its purposes is to align common understanding between manufacturers and users. Manufacturers can adopt it as the baseline of product specification. Users can evaluate the mobile robot products according to the same conditions.
In AMRA, this standard is formed by the experts in working group #1 (WG1), reviewed by the technical committee and approved by the board.
AMRA-201:2023(en) was published on 2023-11-23. Several editorial issues were identified during the project for the zh-TW version in 2024. Ed2 of this standard was updated by the WG1 experts and secretariat (SEC), and then approved by the board.


This technical standard specifies general requirements for mobile robots including the charging stations. The intended environments in which mobile robots operate are on a solid surface in industrial, or service, or both environments.

為進一步推廣移動機器人的標準化,AMRA與台灣智慧自動化與機器人協會(TAIROA),推動共同發行移動機器人之中文標準。本標準由AMRA第一工作小組(WG1)之專家對AMRA-201:2023 (en)-Ed2進行中文化,在通過雙方審核程序後共同發行本中文標準。
